With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joann Godwin (Jacksonville, Florida), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 2, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nettie Mae (Harris) and George Midyette; her siblings, Sammy, Walter, George, Ander, Joe, David, Burnette Midyette and Sarah Walker; her children, Robert Godwin and Barbara Brown; and her grandson Robert Hobbs.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, James Godwin (Ashley), Jessie Godwin, Zach Godwin, Regina Brown, Lindsey Godwin and Tabitha Godwin; and her great grandchildren, Austin, Kori, Kolton, Robert Jr., Jesse, Haylee, Hayden, Waylon, Savannah and Bryce. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Maxville (8635 Maxville Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32234). Viewing will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at the Manning Cemetery.
