He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Eugene Gray and Maxine Oleta Lewis; his wife Margaret Ann Atkins (Gray); and his daughter Cynthia Carol Hecht. He is survived by: his children, Howard Michael Gray, Gina Suzanne Gray (Michelle Lynn Barrett) and Kathryn Marie Middleton (Shaune Timothy Middleton). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
