He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Edgar Thompson Sr. and Emma Jane Pickett; his daughter Annette Saylor; his grandson Billy Saylor; and his siblings, Maggie Grace, Mamie Ruth, Onita, Willie Lee, Willie Edgar and Bobbie James.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Thompson; his sister Mary Lee; and his children, Melvin Thompson Jr. (Jean Marie), Shannon Helton and Tonya Murdock (Greg). He is also survived by many grandchildren and grandpups, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home (850 St Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32225). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
