It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Peter Wynkoop of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Long Beach, California, who passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stratton Wynkoop and Nancy Wynkoop; and his brother Jonathan Wynkoop. He is survived by: his wife Frances; his children, Andrew (Lori), Richard McDowell (Kelly) and Susan Cagle (Darren); his grandchildren, Patrick McDowell, Lauren Sleight (A. J.), Tyler McDowell (Megan) and Olivia Gesner (Noah); and his sisters, Katrina Simmons (Richard), Linda Oswald, Susanna Cottrell (Steve) and Claramarie Burns. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra or the Mark Kopp Foundation.
