He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lechner Alvarez; his sons, Ray Alvarez, Jr., Charles Alvarez (Linda) and Kris Alvarez (De Ci); and his brother Robin Alvarez. He is also survived by six grandchildren; sixteen great‑grandchildren; one great‑great‑granddaughter and another great‑great‑granddaughter.
