He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hughes and Julia Hughes; and his former wife Susan Grady Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Terry Miller-Hughes; his children, Jane Hughes Bonsky (Jon) and Thomas J. "TJ" Hughes (Joannie Knaus); his siblings, Jim Hughes (Carole) and Debby Stanford (Jason); and his stepchildren, Angie Miller Walker (Brian) and Christopher "Bubba" Miller (Emi).
