He is survived by : his mother Barbara Mitchell; his wife Veronica Bevard-Mitchell; his siblings, Tangie Shephard (Richard), Artis Mitchell, Jr. and Torlund; his nieces and nephews, Richard Shephard, Jr., Artis Mitchell III, Julian Butler, Amethyst Shephard and Kendall Butler; his parents-in-law, Jacquelyn Mayhew and Issac Mayhew III (Tanya); and his sisters-in-law, Tangerla Mayhew and Tanyika Mayhew-Butler (Richard). He is also survived by other relatives, friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 22nd 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jr. Memorial Chapel (4315 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 23rd 2023 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
