With sadness, we share the passing of Vance Gaylord Moore of Jacksonville, Florida. Vance, born on January 16, 1932 in Greenville, Michigan, passed away on August 16, 2026. He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Alvie Moore; and his sister Vera Shy. He is survived by: his children, Majie Moore Dodge, Robert Moore (Marina), Myron Moore (Jimmy Fields) and David Moore (Julie); his grandchildren, Carly Mitchell, Philip Cason, Jessie Moore (Noel), Crystal Shapleigh (Jason), Sarah Moore, Tiffany Cook (Howard) and Sammy Pendleton (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Bradlee, Brian Shapleigh and Betsy Moore; and his sisters, Sharon Sisson, Virginia Hedley and Margo Greenhoe.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218). A reception will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at 1558 Old Middleburg Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32210.
