She was predeceased by: her stepfather Charles. She is survived by: her husband James A. Mathis III of Jacksonville; her children, James A. Mathis IV (Jessica) of Macclenny and Seleda A. Neyman (Wes) of Summerville; her siblings, Randy Josey of Brooksville, Rickey Josey (Karen) of Jacksonville, Connie Frye of Apopka and Pamela Johnson of Baldwin; and her grandchildren, Grace, James, Silas and Lorelei. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Her unwavering faith carried her through her battle with breast cancer twice and through Parkinson's disease.
