He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Joseph Keegan and Gertrude Farrell Keegan; his daughter Cathy Marie; and his brother Rev. Terrence Stephen Keegan (O. P.). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Bergeron of Franklin, LA; his children, William Keegan, Jr., Erin Keegan Fields (Julian), Kevin Keegan, Rev. David Keegan and Trish Jayaseelan; and his siblings, Ted (Patti), Claire Matthews, Jimmy (Maryann) and Mary Ellen Keyser (Nelson).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Holy Family Seminarian Fund" to support men in formation for the priesthood.
