William Waits Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on May 7, 2026, at the age of 90, William Waits of Jacksonville, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin "Ben" Waits, Sr. and Josephine Green Waits; his wife Judy Runner Waits; his children, Teresa Joyce Hardin and Roy Douglas "Doug" Waits; his stepdaughter Theresa Sanders; and his siblings, Helen Waits, Ben Waits, Jr. and John Waits.
He is survived by: his children, Helen Jeanne Stivers of Waddy, Brenda Gail Cranmer of New Castle and William Thomas "Billy" Waits (Star) of Shelbyville; his nephew Matthew Waits (Ann) of Jacksonville, FL; and his stepson Ricky Brewer (Denise) of Bloomfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
