With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leathie B. Mathis of Jasper, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Reed and Romie Reed; and her siblings, Jeanneth Vonesh, Gilbert "Bud" Reed, Lois Luke, Cecil Hall and Wilbur Hall.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Gist, Denise and Samuel Wetherington; her grandchildren, Scott Montague, Stephanie Maxwell (Blake), Meagan Vaughan (James) and Lindsey James; and her sister Bertie Sheffield. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harry T. Reid Funeral Home (901 4th St NW, Jasper, FL 32052). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery (4353 SW 107th Ave, Jasper, FL 32052).
