In the sacred silence of farewell, Leontyne is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Leontyne's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard, Sr. Williams and Annie Dora Williams; her brother Leonard Willams, Jr.; and her close friend Wilma Jane Sowell Cook. She is survived by: her daughters, Inza Graves (Lee), Selena Cobbs and Valerie Stokes (Ellis) of Copperas Cove, Texas; her siblings, LaRonne Williams (Gloria) and Vivian Wright; and her aunt Minnie Burton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Greater Poplar Springs Baptist Church (702 1st St NW, Jasper, FL 32052).
