He was predeceased by: his daughter Jaime Whelan; and his parents, Margaret (Mullany) and Joseph Whelan. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his sons, James (Alexis) and Joseph (Christine); his brothers, Michael and Patrick; and his grandchildren, Claire, Gavin, Maggie and Jack. He is also survived by his sons, brothers, cousins.
