He was predeceased by: his former wife Dorothea "Peggy" Stark; and his son Jeffrey Stark. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Stark; his daughter Sally Stark Dean; his grandchildren, Molly Stark Dean, Jonathan Scott Dean and Shannon Alexandra Severance; and his great grandchildren, Addison and Luke Severance.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Al's honor to Rutgers University Foundation.
