She is survived by: her children, Jill Diamond, Laurie Conner (Jamie) and Richard Ettinger (Margie); her grandchildren, Rebecca Borys (Edward), Justin Conner (Claire), Brittany Conner (Kevin), Maggie Ettinger, Richard Ettinger III, Audrey Ettinger, Philip Ettinger and Michael Ettinger; her great grandchildren, Connor, Harrison, Talon, Hallie and Lilith; her siblings, Chester Korniak (Georgiana) of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Jennene Halder of New Bern, Joyce Edwards (Keith) of Schenectady, John Korniak (Kathy) of Schenectady and Janice DiAngelo (late Anthony) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida.; and her caregiver Agnes Akuoko.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the HoytFuneral Home (199 Main St, New Canaan, CT 06840). A Mass was held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Aloysius Church (21 Cherry St, New Canaan, CT 06840).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the New Canaan Land Trust.
