“Forty-two years ago, I walked on the Oklahoma State University football team, Mark was a senior offensive tackle. We didn't cross paths much during practice due to the fact Mark was on the offensive end of the field and I was on the meat team running plays against the defense. That did not get in the way of Mark making a huge impact in my life and career because he was one of the leaders who accepted me and made me feel like a valued member of the team. Mark could make you feel special. We had a great year, Big 8 Co-Champs, Tangerine Bowl Champs and we had a great time down in Orlando. He also taught me a great lesson on the field during the last Varsity/Alumni game ever played at OSU in the spring of 1978. There are no friends across the line of scrimmage, because he knocked the living dog out of me and laughed. I said, "Why'd you do that for Perrelli?" He said that's how you play the game. May God's peace be with the family, and know that Mark was a remarkable man to many people, One of my heroes!”
