Christopher William Dantos Obituary
Christopher William Dantos, age 60, passed away on May 22, 2019 in Key Largo, Florida. Christopher was born on September 22, 1959 in Conway, New Hampshire to Paul and Lillian Dantos, and grew up in Falmouth Foreside, Maine. The youngest in a family of five siblings, he always had a loving and gentle spirit.
He was soft-spoken but strong-willed. A patriot, he served his country with pride as a merchant marine in various war zones, and was an accredited officer with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. His love of the sea lured him to Maine Maritime Academy, where he graduated with a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
An avid scuba diver, Christopher always had to be situated by the sea, which ultimately led him to settle in Key Largo. He went on to receive an MS in Information Assurance from Norwich University. As an information security engineer, he was a pioneer in his field, writing scripts for intrusion detection before they were commercially available.
He was a devoted son, a supportive brother, and an engaged uncle to his nieces, doling out advise from the things he had learned throughout his various walks of life and his experiences traveling the world. He cultivated life-long friendships, especially with Dustin Blanchard, who was his support system in his final years and who he celebrated his last birthday with. Christopher is survived by his two brothers – Constantine and George, and two sisters – Andrea and Stephanie, as well as his four beautiful nieces and his beloved dog, Buck.
