He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Cole and Gladys Cole (Thorn); and his son Steven Shelby Cole. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cole (Morris); his son Matthew Stokes Cole of Keystone Heights; his sister Sharon Lope of Clearfield, Pennsylvania.; his grandchildren, Stephanie Rosier of Middleburg and Shelby Cole of Gainesville; and his great grandchild Everett Steven Rosier.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be given to Fresh Start Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 747, Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
