He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Herche and John Reisz Herche; his brothers, Nicholas Adam Herche, John Reisz Herche and Howard Richard Herche; and his sister-in-law Rhea Carolyn.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Faye; his sons, Robert Kent (Lisa), Stephen Brent (Kimberly Ann) and Garrett Lynn "Sam" (Tonya); and his brother Gene Raymond Herche (Deborah). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
