He is survived by: his wife Karyn Mitrano; his children, Jacqueline (Angel Alicea), Gary (Ann Mitrano), Danielle Mitrano and Joseph (Rebekah Mitrano); his grandchildren, Grace Mitrano, Gary Mitrano III, Angel Alicea Jr., Alexandera Alicea and Dominic Mitrano; and his siblings, Nicholas, Janis Mitrano, Patricia, Matthew Luth, Tanyia and David Summa.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gary's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
