He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Haefelin and Mildred Haefelin (Becker); and his former wife Gloria (Loberta). He is survived by: his wife Esperanza; his children, Nina Berger (John), Kim Bonney (Thomas) and Gregg Haefelin; his stepsons, John Rivero (Debbie) and Hank Hansen (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Arielle Williams (Dominic) and Grace Chase (Zachary); his great grandchild Violet Chase; and his stepgrandchildren, Annabella, John Rivero Jr., Harry and Estelle Hansen.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Flags over Solivita.
