He was predeceased by: his parents, Zollie D. Tharrington and Minnie Moore Tharrington of Nash County, NC.; his former wife Alice Starling Tharrington; and his brothers, William Ezzell Sr. and Dan "Sambo" Tharrington.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Rogers Tharrington; his children, Hannah Grace, Greg Tharrington (Marla), Pam Rogers (Charles), Glenda Gardner (Allan) and Jennifer Moore (Max R.); his grandchildren, Adam, Jessica, Randall, Brittany, Jeremy, John, Michael and Tharyn; his stepgranddaughter Caroline; his great grandchildren, AJ, Patrick, Anna, Trenton, Tarah, Matthew, Lillie, Warren, Cheyenne and Elijah; his siblings, Jean and Richard Tharrington (Beth); his sister-in-law Loretta Rogers; and his caregiver Yvonne Olgilvie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
