He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie T. Murphy and Mattie Lula "Biggie" Wilkes-Murphy; and his brother Johnnie P. "J. P." Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Kieko Murphy; his daughters, Miyuki Murphy, Mika Murphy and Michele Murphy-Jones; his son-in-law Zachary Jones; and his grandchildren, Charles Jones, Marie Jones and Benjamin Jones.
Charlie was a proud member of the VFW and the Freemasons, and was known for his lifelong commitment to giving—donating more than 100 gallons of blood and platelets over the years.
