He was predeceased by: his parents, David Jackson Colyer, Sr. and Marie Estelle Guenther; his brother David Jackson Colyer, Jr.; and his former wife Marie "Lori" Colyer. He is survived by: his wife Lynda Colyer of Lady Lake, Florida; his former wife JoAnn Dubrouillet; his children, Susan Griffin (David) of Westville, Joseph Colyer (Soni) of Myrtle Beach and Timothy Colyer (Patti) of Orlando, Florida; his stepchildren, Aleck "Skip" Jonas (Vida) of Thayne, Wyoming, Teresa O'Donnell (Carl) of Leesburg, Florida., Pamela O'Donnell of Leesburg, Florida. and Joe O'Donnell (Sabrina) of Leesburg, Florida.; and his grandchildren, Zebulon Griffin (Christy), Angela Griffin, Samuel Griffin (Katrina), Kevin Colyer (Kristen), Karin Chaney (Chris), Megan Gideon (Grant), Chaz O'Donnell (Kristen), JT Fox, Stephen Buck (Stephanie) and Alex Buck. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Northside Christian Church in Fruitland Park.
