He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Read and Martha Read (Stadie); his brother Bruce Read; and his pets, Sam, Mandy, Duchess, Jilly and Kendra.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Golden (John) and Susan Read (Patty); his grandsons, Bradley Read (Samantha) and Aaron Golden; his great grandchild Colton Read; and his pet Darla.
