He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Mae Slater Smith and James Roy Smith; and his brother Les LeRoy Smith. He is survived by: his wife Christie Smith; his sister Carla Smith Beyke; his daughter Sarah Smith-Ripple (David); his grandchildren, Charlie and Kierstyn Ripple; his son Christopher Smith; and his stepdaughters, Maggie Cope, Catherine Vansanford (Adam) and Shelby (Josiel).
