He was predeceased by: his stepson Austin Burnham. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Johns Freeman of Lake City; his parents, Shirley Dilger and Earl Dilger of South Carolina; his children, Daryl "D. J." Freeman, Jr. (Jamee) of Lake City and Ashley Freeman of Lake City; his sister Cindy Gratton of South Carolina; and his grandchildren, Dallas, Sofia Freeman, Gavin and Logan Fenter.
