He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Raper and Zada Hodges Raper. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Raper of Lake City; his children, Joseph (Melinda Howell), Susan Jolley of Lake City, Tammy Bell of Wellborn, Donna (Billy Carter), Carol Ann (Mike Townsend), Merril Raper Jr. of Lake City, Lillie Raper Porter of O'Brien, Mary (Kevin Burton), Byrda (Antoin Mitchell) and Sophia Raper (Faith Raper); and his sister Martha Sue Presley of Lake City. He is also survived by thirty six grandchildren, forty great grandchildren.
