Mitchell will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Mitchell by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Mitchell is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Mitchell’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his father Edgar Pennington; and his brother Kahi Pennington. He is survived by: his mother Opal Littleton Pennington; his wife Teresa Goldizen Pennington; his sons, Brent Pennington and Ryan Pennington; and his sisters, Marsha Price (James) and Twila Pennington.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home (11 N Main St, Petersburg, WV 26847). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Lahmansville Cemetery (6383 Patterson Creek Rd, Lahmansville, WV 26731).
Until the Pennington Aviation Foundation is formally established, memorial contributions will be received and administered through Visions Beyond Ministries, an existing 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
