He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Mattie Lee Holt; his siblings, Thomas Holt (Opal), Leeomi Holt (Clara), Carl Holt (Caroline), Larry Holt, Robert Holt, Hazel Martin and Mary Moore; and his daughter Vivian "Jane" Thacker (Billy).

He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Harris Holt; his children, Donnie Jett, Pam Seagers (Ricky), Darlene Hallock, Chris Jett and Cindy Carpenter (Doug); his sister Sylvia Anne Meyer (Stephen); his sister-in-law Kate Holt; Alverna Harris. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
