He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvanus Nelson and Eunice Nelson; his wife Sandra R. Nelson; and his son Scott. He is survived by: his sister Sylvia Willis; his daughter Holly R. Heflin; his son-in-law Kevin O. Heflin; his grandchildren, Jason Heflin (Laura), Sandy Thomas (Evin) and Allison Rose Jackson (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Beatrice, Geneva, Henry Heflin, Ava and Emma Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to honor Charles' life to make a donation to Good Shepherd Hospice-Lakeland Hospice House.
