He is survived by: his father Jimmy "Dale" Gaines; his siblings, Dr. Leslie Jones (Angelo) and Latoya Neloms; his aunts and uncles, Thelma Dennis, Adlissa Hyman, Herbert Cummings, Sr. (Minnie), Eddie Gaines (Faye), Henry Williams and James Gaines; his niece Octavia Neloms; his nephews, Peter, Pierre, Giovani James (Victoria) and Timmie Neloms; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Genesis, Paris, Peter, Jr., Jeremiah, Gianna and Legend James. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
