He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Groves and Myrtle Groves (Starling); his wife Betty Jo Groves; his son Clifford Ainsworth; and his siblings, Wilbur Groves and Dorothy Groves.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Slind, Vicki Sweat, Robin Dunn, Duane Agee, Darien Groves and Darryl Groves; and his brother Johnny Groves. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
