He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper Meloy and Ollie Meloy; his wife Dorothy Meloy; and his siblings, Carl Meloy, Daniel Meloy, David Meloy, Eupha Hayes, Dorothy Morrison, Norma Coursey, Ruth Warner and Martha Irwin.
He is survived by: his children, James "Buddy" Meloy, Jr. (Abby), Timothy Meloy (Carol), Linda Massey (Mike) and Melanie Bryant (Scott); his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Emma, Joshua, Christie, Tiffany, Jessica, Micah and Stevie; and his great grandchildren, Malachi, Bentley, Bailee, Brinleigh, Aaron, Ruby, Josephine and James.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel (1727 Bartow Rd, Lakeland, FL 33801). The military honors will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513).
