She was predeceased by: her parents, John Milller and Mary Etta Milller (Ricks); her siblings, Margie Allen, William, James Miller, Mary Willis and Carolyn Tyrrell; and her husband Gordon Carl Sawyer.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Walter (Steve), Wayne Sawyer (Betsy) and Robyn Williams (Michael); her grandchildren, Jennifer Kennedy, Jamie Babb (Casey), Scott Sawyer (Natasha), Keri Sawyer, Bryce Williams and Brooks Williams; and her great grandchildren, Brianna Pierson, Emily Pierson, Ellie Green-Sawyer, Evan Sawyer, Connor Babb, Kennedy Babb and Kellan Babb. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in honor of JoAnn may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
