He was predeceased by: his parent Willie Mae Walker; and his sister Mary Walker. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Walker; his children, Johnnie T. Walker, Jr., Dorothy A. Smith (Kevin), Gregory T. Walker, Dallas Coleman (Dari Noel) and Jonathan Walker; his grandchildren, Andre T. Walker, Tamia Coleman, Clarke Coleman, Juli Walker, Joziah Walker and Bricen Coleman; his great grandchild Tobias Coleman; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Williiams (Roy). He is also survived by other friends and relatives.
