She is survived by: her husband Phillip Joe Avery, Sr.; her children, Phillip Joe Avery, Jr. of Birmingham and Kimberly Suzzanne Avery of Lakeland, FL; her grandchildren, Maria Avery, Alex Avery (Christine) of Jacksonville, FL and Taylor Avery; her great grandchildren, Tiannilene Remay and Phillip Ray Avery; and her sisters, Carole Forshee of Augusta, GA, Janice White (Bobby) of Grenada, Cleatha Reese of Augusta, Mary Sue Shields and Martha Davis Spoon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be directed to St. Jude Children's Research.
