She is survived by: her son Risdon Nichols Slate (Claudia); her grandchildren, Renee Morehouse (John), Jimmy Stein (Tao) and Beth Tooley (Dave); and her sibling's children, Jim Slate (Gloria), Dale Slate (Anne-Marie), Trent Slate (Danielle), Nancy Martin (Steve) and Jennifer Dawson (Darren) of Greenville, NC..
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Watson King Funeral Home (306 E Franklin St, Rockingham, NC 28380). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 4:15 PM at the Zion United Methodist Church (123 Zion St, Rockingham, NC 28379).
