It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Coomes of Lakeland, Florida, born in Springfield, Kentucky, who passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leslie Greenwell and Elizabeth Greenwell (Murphy); her siblings, John Greenwell, Joe Greenwell, Betty Ballard and Rose Yeager; her children, William Coomes (Victoria), Rose Rex (Jack), Susan Elrod (Michael) and Mary Coomes (Paul Gilmore); and her brother Bill Greenwell. She was also cherished by her seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
