She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester W. Barfield and Helen Lindsey Barfield; her husband William F. Briggs; her son Eric E. Briggs (Rick); and her siblings, Lester W. Barfield, Jr., John Robert Barfield, Harold Barfield, Rosalie Stark and Sarah Ann Varner.
She is survived by: her daughter Renee Hawk (Barry) of Lakeland, FL; her siblings, Jim Barfield (Karen) of Winchester and Shirley DeJaynes of Clinton; and her grandchildren, Andrew M. Prewitt (Suzanne) of Bartow, FL, Stephanie Fox of Galesburg, IL, Jeffrey A. Briggs and Anthony E. Briggs. She is also survived by great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
