She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Harrison Reed and Martha Emma Reed (Mott); her children, Connie Ann Wilson and Melvin Maxey; and her siblings, Chuck Reed, Edward Reed, Ted Reed, Lois DeJaynes and James Reed.

She is survived by : her husband Lavern Downen; her children, Craig Maxey and Cathy Leonard; and her siblings, Bob Reed, Linda Short and Donald Reed. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
