Though Loyda may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Loyda touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her mother Hilda Rivera (Mirailh); her daughter Deborah Smith; and her grandson Ryan Benedict. She is survived by: her father Victor C. Rivera, Jr. of Miami, FL; her daughter Rachel Vardis (Joseph) of Pensacola, FL; and her siblings, Elliot Ruiz of California, David Molina of Georgia, Bernice Vera of Leesburg, FL, Marlene Ruiz of New York, Maria Patti of Pennsylvania and Dora Volpe of Miami, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Welcome Home Church (335 Tomato Hill Rd, Leesburg, FL 34748).
