He was predeceased by : his parents, David McCarl and Lucy McCarl; and his brother Nick McCarl. He is survived by : his children, Kim Swartzel (Steve) and Jason McCarl; his stepchildren, Dee Dee Cathcart (Ricky) and Dion Sweat (Katie); his brothers, Jim McCarl and Donald McCarl (Lisa); and his sister-in-law Pam McCarl. He is also survived by Fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel (932 Ohio Ave S, Live Oak, FL 32064).
