She was predeceased by: her parents, Everice Bowen and Lorna Joyce Bowen; her son Tarrick Eduard Charlton (Turtle); her siblings, Penelope McBean, Everice Bowen Jr. (Norma), Fabian Bowen (Chris) and Ricardo Bowen (Ricky); and her brother-in-law Steadman McHayle.
She is survived by: her husband Vernon Halsted Barton (Maxie); her children, Giovanni Barton (Lisa) and Teneisha Barton (Darryl); her grandchildren, Braxton and Gianna Barton; and her siblings, Millicent McHayle, Dawn Bowen, Deborah Barber (Phillip), Natalie McKenzie (Obie), Boris Bowen, Vincent Bowen, Edward Bowen (Sonia) and Anthony Bowen (Denise). She is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews and 23 grandnieces and grandnephews.
