He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Hirth and Elsie Hirth; his brothers, Russell and Jay Hirth; and his grandson Jason Shane Hill.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Carlson Hirth; and his children, Gail Hill, Miriam Naef (Conrad), Denise Ost (Mark), Roger Hirth (Teresa), Lynn Veilleux (Kevin) and David Hirth (Lynnette). He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren and spouses, 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
