He is survived by: his mother Gina Hoerig; his stepfather Vance Achterhof; his father Ronald Hoerig (Karen); his grandmother Anna Horvath; his siblings, Jessica Gallon (Ronald), Alex Hoerig, Logan Evans, Steven Hoerig and Matthew Hoerig; his niece Elena; his nephews, Johnathan, Ayden and Tyler; and his girlfriend Maria Agurcia.

Donations in Michael's memory may be made to the family and will be used to help create the "Strong Like Michael Foundation.".
