He was predeceased by: his father Noel Lee McDonald; his stepparents, Simon Boyd and Margaret McDonald; his stepbrothers, Harlo Sullivan and Michael Sullivan; and his pet Sally Jane.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy McDonald of Macclenny; his daughters, Kaley Brantley (Brandon) of Macclenny and Maegan Harrington (Blake) of Macclenny; his mother Betty Jean Boyd (Raulerson) of Macclenny; his brother Dale McDonald (Rita) of Glen St; his stepsiblings, Von Sullivan, Danny Sullivan (June) and Debra Taylor (Danny); and his grandchildren, Bowden, Reese and Ruby. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
