David George Guerdan Obituary
David George Guerdan, age 86 of Maitland, Florida, passed away on May 25, 2020. David was born in New York, New York on January 22, 1934 to George Arthur & Ruth (McCaw) Guerdan. He was raised in Bronxville, New York and later graduated from Hobart College in Geneva, NY. He served in the United States Navy for nearly 20 years, both Active Duty and in the Reserves. He served on the USS Ranger aircraft carrier and later flew as a navigator. His time in the military took him from California to New York to Minnesota and eventually Florida. He loved our military and was proud of his numerous relatives and grandsons who served our country. The Boy Scouts of America was also a very important part of David's life. He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Chartered Organization Representative for Boy Scout Troop 625. He was an Eagle Scout and was thrilled to see his 3 sons and 2 grandsons obtain the honor as well. David was an avid sailor and longtime member of the Orlando Yacht Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Edith (Peck) Guerdan of 62 years, son John Guerdan of Douglasville, GA, daughter Laura Underhill of Bath, NY, son Dave (Tina) Guerdan of Maitland, FL, son James (Elizabeth) Guerdan of Falmouth, ME, daughter Kathy Joseph of Winter Park, and grandchildren Amanda, Andy & Billy Underhill; Michael & Ryan Guerdan; Dalton, Cole & Brady Joseph and Emily and Jason Guerdan. Additional family includes sister, Constance Olsen of Falmouth, ME and sister-in-law Carol Guerdan of Lexington, KY along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Inurnment will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida at a date to be determined.
