He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lewis and Eula Stevens Daffern; and his brothers, James Leon Daffern, Chester Daffern, Charles Richard Daffern and Lewis "Duck" Daffern.
He is survived by: his wife Imogene; his children, Daniel "Bud" Daffern (Christy), Shannon Stevens (Billy) and Shelly Taylor (Brandon); his daughter-in-law Angie Shelton; his siblings, Lawrence "Floyd", David, Jerry, Gary Daffern, Connie Johnson and Debbie Johnson; and his grandchildren, Whitney, Jessica, Taylor, Courtney, Dylan, Dalton, Brynan, Seth, Chris and Christina. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
